Khan's bout with Peterson, a 12-rounder for the IBF/WBA junior welterweight title, was to be a rematch of the championship fight between the two boxers on December 10, 2011 in Washington, D.C. Peterson won that fight by a split decision, but the result was a controversial one -- Khan later made accusations that a man ringside had interfered with the judges' scorecards to alter the result.
