Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees pleaded not guilty this morning on charges of battery, resisting law enforcement, and consumption of alcohol by the minor, according to ESPN.

Rees is accused of kneeing a police officer in the chest after fleeing from officers after a party May 3. Linebacker Carlo Calabrese was also arrested in the incident, and was charged with a misdemeanor. Last year, as a freshman, Rees started 12 of 13 games for the Irish, throwing for 2,871 yards and 20 touchdowns.
