Forbes released their list of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities this week. Out of the 100 names listed, 17 were professional athletes.

Tiger Woods (12), LeBron James (15), and Kobe Bryant (27) were the highest ranked athletes on the list for 2012. Jennifer Lopez edged out Oprah Winfrey as the top ranked celebrity overall, according to Forbes.

Roger Federer (31), David Bechkham (32), Manny Pacquaio (33), Peyton Manning (40), Cristiano Ronaldo (44), Rafael Nadal (47), Phil Mickelson (48) and Lionel Messi (50) rounded out the athletes ranked in the top 50 of Forbes' list. Maria Sharapova (71) was the highest ranked female athlete.

Other athletes listed included Floyd Mayweather (52), Tom Brady (60), Alex Rodriguez (63), Serena Williams (77) and Li Na (87). Notably absent from the list were three-time MLB MVP Albert Pujols, NBA scoring champ Kevin Durant, NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, and record setting Olympian Michael Phelps. There were no NHL players on the list.
