Arrest made in shooting following Thunder-Lakers game

Oklahoma City police say they have made an arrest in the shooting following Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals between the Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers, according to the Oklahoman. Eight people were injured in the shooting.

According to the report, police say they arrested 19-year-old Rodney Dewon Hill on Tuesday afternoon on eight complaints of shooting with intent to kill. It was not made clear whether Hill was the shooter in the incident.

City officials have also eliminated a popular hangout outside of the arena called Thunder Alley. Normally, crowds of 2,000-3,000 people watch the game there outside the arena on a video board, but an estimated 8,000-10,000 people showed up Monday night.

"We're discussing alternatives to Thunder Alley,” OKC Police Chief Bill Citty said. “You are getting such large crowds that they become uncontrollable. “You could have something else,” he said. “Maybe someone gets sick or there is a medical problem. It creates problems.

The Thunder eliminated the Lakers 106-90 last night to win the series in five games and will face the Spurs in San Antonio on Sunday night in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.  Oklahoma City hosts Game 3, Thursday, May 31.
