Dallas Cowboys rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne says he won't be ready to practice until the Cowboys open training camp in July because of a left wrist injury, reports Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com.

Claiborne, the sixth overall pick by the Cowboys in the 2012 draft out of LSU, was seen wearing a brace following surgery on the wrist. He is expected to compete for a spot in the starting rotation.

"I don't like it, but I know it's what's best for me in the long run and what's best for the team," Claiborne says. "I'm not trying to rush it. I'm just going to take my time and do what the trainers have me doing in the meantime."
