Multiple sources tell ESPN's Chris Broussard that former Magic great Shaquille O'Neal will meet with the team next week to discuss Orlando's vacant general manager position. G.M. Otis Smith and coach Stan van Gundy were both fired on Monday.
O'Neal, of course, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Magic before signing with the Lakers as a free agent. After retiring last summer, he was an analyst with TNT this season. If hired, his immediate challenge would be to convince one of his successors, Dwight Howard, to not do as he did, and to remain in Orlando.
