The New Orleans Saints have reached out to a handful of NFL teams about holding some combined practices during training camps, reports the Boston Globe's Greg Bedard.

The New England Patriots are one of those teams and seem a logical fit. The two teams practiced together during training camp in 2010.

In recent years, the two teams have been among the league's best. Over the past three regular seasons, the Saints and Patriots are tied with a league-best 37-11 record. As Bedard notes, the two organizations also have been harshly punished by the league recently: the Patriots, in 2007, for SpyGate and the Saints this offseason in the bounty scandal.
