Tim Dierkes of reports that righthander Ben Sheets threw for representatives of the Phillies, Braves, Yankees and Angels on Wednesday in Monroe, La.

The one-time Olympic star and Milwaukee Brewers ace does not turn 34 until July 18, but he has pitched more than 150 innings just once since 2005. He missed all of 2009 with an elbow injury and then made 20 starts in 2010 before going down again. Sheets did not pitch last season and has intimated that he would not return unless he felt 100 percent. If he has anything left in the tank, Sheets could be an interesting late-season pickup for a contender.
