While most of the New York Jets are headed off for relaxing a bit before training camp starts next month, one player will be headed to jail.

Defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis will start serving a 45-day jail sentence in Virginia on Friday.  Ellis pleaded to misdemeanor assault and battery for a 2010 incident. His sentence is due to end July 29. The Jets report to training camp three day earlier.

"I have conversations with a lot of our players, but obviously that’s a different situation. But I definitely talked to him," Ryan said told the Star-Ledger. "There are people that have gone through similar things, and I basically said, 'Lean on each other.' That’s pretty much it."
