As reported by Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Kidd seems intrigued by the idea of playing with fellow free agent point guard Deron Williams.

Williams played for the Nets last season, and various reports have pointed to his displeasure that the team has failed to land center Dwight Howard in a trade. Williams is also a Texas native, leading some to believe he would strongly consider the Mavericks. The 39-year-old Kidd averaged career lows with 6.2 points and 5.5 assists per game this season. Reports have also said that the Chicago Bulls are interested in signing Kidd as a temporary solution to Derrick Rose's ACL injury. Rose is likely to miss most of next season.
