Richard Hurd, a former Baylor basketball player, was arrested for allegedly trying to extort Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, reports Waco's KWTX.

Hurd, 25, was reportedly arrested on Friday and released Monday.

KWTX reports Hurd's bond was set at $25,000.

No information about the alleged plot is yet known. The case is being investigated by the FBI, and as a result, there is no police report. An FBI agent declined comment to KWTX on Monday.

Hurd was a member of Baylor's basketball team from 2004 to 2007. Griffin, the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, won the Heisman Trophy while playing for Baylor last season.
