The Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement with 6-foot-11 Jason Thompson to keep him in a Kings uniform, according to the Sacremento Bee.
Details on the multiyear deal were not disclosed, but the deal figures to be worth $6 million per year.
Thompson's re-signing gives the Kings three powerful threats in the paint with DeMarcus Cousins and newly drafted power forward Thomas Robinson.
Last year, Thompson shot 53 percent from the field while averaging 9.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
According to the Bee, the Kings want to pursue team defense, but don't want to spend too much to do it with the future contract negotiations for Cousins and Tyreke Evans come into play. The Kings will still have two spots left on their roster after signing Robinson, and roughly $6 million remaining under the cap.
