Baltimore Orioles starter Jason Hammel will have surgery on his right knee, a procedure that will cause him to miss about four weeks, according to CBS Sports. The surgery will be done to remove some loose cartilage in the joint, and is thought to be a relatively routine procedure.

Hammel has been one of the Orioles top pitchers this season, his first in Baltimore after arriving via trade from Colorado in February. He owns an 8-6 record with a 3.54 ERA and 109 strikeouts.
