Jonathan Broxton is on his way from cellar dweller to contender, according to a tweet from FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
After a down year with the Dodgers in 2011, Broxton has enjoyed a career resurgence this year in Kansas City. He has posted a 2.27 ERA so far in 35 games as a closer. However, the Royals have struggled mightily as a team, as they sit bottom of the AL Central with a 41-60 record. In Cincinnati, Broxton will be joining a team three games clear of top spot in the NL Central, in prime position to appear in this year's playoffs.
