Thursday’s Green Bay-San Diego exhibition game will attract more attention than the typical NFL preseason affair. Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times reports Shannon Eastin will become the first woman to officiate an NFL game as part of the replacement crew working the game in San Diego.

Replacement crews are scheduled to work this week’s preseason games after the NFL locked out its regular officials in June as part of negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement. Eastin’s officiating resume includes working as a referee in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and other leagues.
