Rule number one in not getting fined, ejected or suspended. Don't touch the officials on the field.
Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp did not heed that advice as he was tossed in the second inning for arguing balls and strikes in Thursday afternoon's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Then, to make matters worse, Kemp made contact with an umpire.
Andre Ethier was at bat when Kemp was ejected and Kemp was thrown out of the game from the dugout where he was yelling at home-plate umpire Angel Campos. Kemp struck out in the first inning in his first at-bat. Kemp made his way to home plate and had to be restrained by Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and other Dodgers' coaches. Mattingly was also ejected for the sixth time this season, which leads the majors.
