Report: Maria Sharapova's engagement to Sasha Vujacic called off

Former NBA player Sasha Vujacic confirmed to La Gazzetta dello Sport that his engagement to tennis player Maria Sharapova was called off three months ago, the publication reports.

The couple announced its engagement in October 2010 after about a year of dating and had reportedly been planning a wedding in Istanbul. The pair had apparently set Nov. 10 as the date for its private ceremony.

Vujacic, who has played for the Lakers and Nets, now plays in Turkey.
