Denver Broncos defensive tackle Ty Warren underwent an MRI exam on an elbow injury Monday and head coach John Fox said Warren suffered a re-tear of the triceps, reports the Denver Post.Warren tore the same triceps last season.

Warren left last night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first half and did not return. The injury was first diagnosed as a sprained elbow. It was his first appearance in a regular season game since 2009.

The team has yet to determine Warren’s status, but the injury is likely season-ending.

The Broncos have not yet taken advantage of the new rule that allows teams to designate one player to return from IR.

Warren spent the first eight seasons of his career with the New England Patriots before being released in July.
