Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini is on his way to the hospital after being stricken with flu-like symptoms, reports ESPN.

Pelini did not return to the sidelines after halftime of the Cornhuskers game against Arkansas State. ESPN is reporting that Pelini left the stadium in an ambulance. Nebraska was leading 28-3 at the half.

Pelini's family left the sideline during the third quarter, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

The 44-year-old Pelini had his pulse checked and sat for a few minutes before saying, "I'm OK. I'm fine. Not feeling real good."

Defensive coordinator John Papuchis is acting as head coach.
