The Winnipeg Jets snuck in a deal just before the lockout began at midnight on Saturday, agreeing to a six-year, $31.5 million contract with restricted free agent Evander Kane.

He made the team as an 18-year-old and has improved his goal and assist totals in each of his three seasons, to 30 goals and 27 assists in 2011-12.
