Andrew Bynum has been at the center of attention for the Sixers, but he has yet to step on the court with his new team. The All-Star center who went to the Sixers as part of the four-team trade that sent Dwight Howard to the Lakers in August was shut down by the team one day before training camp opened as a precautionary measure. Bynum had been treated for arthritis-infected areas in both knees and a bone bruise on his right knee.

He told CSN Philly he was feeling better health-wise and is anxious to start practicing and to get acclimated to his new team:

"I feel pretty good and I am definitely getting better,” Bynum said. "I just really have been trying to get down the offense because it is brand new.”

He also stressed the positive relationship he has developed with coach Doug Collins:

"I feel like he really understands being a player,” Bynum said. “He has told me what he expects from me and that he always has an open door and that is the best thing you want from a coach.”
If everything continues on schedule, Bynum would return about a week before the season opener against the Nuggets on Oct. 31. Last season with the Lakers, Bynum averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in 35.2 minutes per game.
