Smith has made himself integral to the Vikings defense as a rookie, but has had his share of trouble this season. He was fined earlier this season for a shoulder-to-head hit in the Vikings-Chargers match up. The first fine was also a result of unnecessary roughness, and cost Smith $21,000.

On Oct. 8, Smith was ejected from the Vikings-Titans game with 11 minutes remaining for shoving an official. Smith did not face a fine or suspension for it.
