The Carolina Panthers have put running back DeAngelo Williams on the trade block ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday.
With trade deadline Tuesday, teams around league have contacted Carolina to inquire about RB DeAngelo Williams. Panthers willing to listen.

The report is not particularly surprising, since Williams has fallen on hard times after 2009 highs. Williams has garnered 61 carries in the Panthers' six games so far this season for 210 yards.
Last year, the 29-year-old Williams carried the ball 155 times for 836 yards and a 5.4-yard average. His last 1,000-yard season came in 2009. Schefter reported that the most significant complication to any potential Williams trade would be his contract. His $5.25 million salary this season is fully guaranteed.
