Danny Granger out for three months
Indiana Pacers small forward Danny Granger might be out for as long as three months. The Pacers released a press statement regarding Granger's left knee.
The Indiana Pacers announced that Danny Granger received an injection Tuesday to treat left patellar tendinosis. The procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Team medical personnel are looking at a recovery time of approximately three months. Further updates will be provided when appropriate.
Jumpers knee, an inflammation in the patellar tendon, is a relatively common injury in the NBA and can end up as a complete tear in the tendon. The primary form of treatment is to rest, which Granger will have to do for the next three months. Off to a 2-2 start, the Pacers will need Paul George and David West to make up for the loss of Granger, the team's leading scorer.
