The struggling New York Jets have signed a new guard--a player formerly on the practice squad for the Colts. Hicks tweeted news of the move himself.
Hicks was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent back in April, but was cut after preseason and signed to the practice squad. Moving to the Jets is an obvious choice for Hicks, who will get at least three weeks on the Jets active roster by rule. One of the Jets' three wins was a 35-9 victory over the Colts, too.
It's an interesting move by the Jets, who already have two backup guards. After re-signing wide receiver Jason Hill, waiving safety Antonio Allen and adding Hicks, the Jets have one remaining open spot on the roster.
