Nationals manager Davey Johnson has worked out a new contract with the Nationals, reports Jon Heyman of CBSsports.com. Johnson was signed for 2013 and 2014 as a consultant; after the new contract is finalized, he will enter his second full season with the team as manager.

Johnson led the Nationals to a 98-win season and the NL East title, and he is favored to win NL Manager-of-the-Year. The 69-year-old manager boasts a 1,286-995 career record.
