Jon Heyman of reports that Ryan Ludwick has worked out a deal to return to the Reds.


Ludwick turned down a $5 million mutual option for 2013. Previous reports suggest that the Reds offered Ludwick a two-year deal in the $6-7 million range. The details of the new deal are not yet known, although per Ken Rosenthal it is all but certain.

[tweet] Ludwick batted .275/.346/.531 for the Reds with 26 homers in 125 games for the past season. He has a career batting of .263/.334/.466 and a total of 143 home runs.
