Bobby Petrino will be named the new head football coach at Western Kentucky University, according to a tweet from the Bowling Green Daily News' Chad Bishop.
The job will mark Petrino's return to coaching following a tumultuous 2012 for the former Arkansas head man. Petrino was fired from his post at Arkansas following a motorcycle crash involving himself and a former Arkansas volleyball player he hired to a position within the football program. It was subsequently revealed that Petrino was having an affair with the woman, and that she had received an undisclosed $20,000 gift from Petrino.
Petrino was fired as Arkansas head football coach on April 10th due to his misleading of authorities and administration about the affair. He had a 34-17 overall record with the Razorbacks, a four-year run that included trips to the Liberty, Sugar, and Cotton Bowls in 2009, 2010, and 2011 respectively.
