Hyun-jin Ryu signed by Dodgers
Just one day after landing Zack Greinke, The Los Angeles Dodgers have added another starting pitcher - this one from South Korea. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports on Twitter that the Dodgers have signed Hyun-jin Ryu, a lefty from Incheon who is seen as one of the best pitching prospects on his side of the Pacific.
The Dodgers reportedly paid just over $25 million for exclusive negotiation rights with Ryu one month ago, with Sunday being the last day for the Dodgers and the player to come to an agreement.
Ryu owns a 98-52 record with a 2.80 ERA in seven seasons as a pro in South Korea with the Hanwha Eagles. He also led South Korea to a gold medal at the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing and a second-place finish at the 2009 World Baseball Classic. https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/277896210671603712
