New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow's future has been talked about for the past week and it seems as though he may have a chance to kickstart his career again.

ESPN.com reports that it is "a virtual certainty" that Tebow will play in next season for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tebow, who is from the Jacksonville area, was traded to the Jets in March after leading the Denver Broncos to the playoffs but has gotten limited playing time this season.

Tebow still has two years remaining on his contract, but would only cost the Jets a little more than $1 million against the salary cap if he is cut.

The Jaguars offered a fourth-round pick to Denver in March and proposed to pay $3 million to the Broncos to compensate for money that had been advanced to Tebow.

"Sometimes, things just happen out of your control," Tebow said earlier this week. "Obviously, you might not be pleased with them or happy about it, but you just try to handle it as best you can."

This season, Tebow has played in 11 games, completing six of eight passes and has run the ball 32 times for 102 yards in only 72 offensive snaps. The Jaguars have Chad Henne and injured Blaine Gabbert on the roster at quarterback and at 2-12 is tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the league's worst record.
