University of Florida linebacker Jelani Jenkins will forego his final season of eligibility to enter the 2013 NFL Draft, reports ESPN.com.
Jenkins is a redshirt junior and was injured-plagued for most of the season, missing games against Tennessee and Kentucky with a broken thumb. He also missed Florida's 33-23 loss to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl after injuring his foot in a victory over Florida State.
"Jelani informed me that he wishes to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL," Florida head coach Will Muschamp said in a statement. "We wish him the best of luck and encourage him to return to Florida and complete his degree."
Jenkins is the ninth Florida player with eligibility remaining to leave after the 2012 season, including safety Matt Elam, tight end Jordan Reed and defensive tackle Shariff Floyd.
