Former Bears coach Lovie Smith will interview with the Chargers for their head coach vacancy, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com via Twitter.

Rapoport first reported Smith's dismissal by the Bears on Dec. 31 after the teams missed the playoffs with a 10-6 record.

Smith, who was defensive coordinator for the Rams before moving to Chicago in 2006, led the Bears to Super Bowl XLI after the 2006 season and two other postseason appearances.

The Chargers are looking for a new head coach after firing Norv Turner following the 2012 season. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/289734970266767360
