David Beckham to donate PSG salary to children's charity

David Beckham has announced that he will donate all of his salary from playing with Paris Saint-Germain to a children's charity, according to a report from Sky News. The 37-year-old midfielder signed a five-month deal with the French Ligue 1 team and was presented by the club during a news conference on Thursday.

"I won't receive any salary, we have decided my salary will go towards a local children's charity in Paris and that is one of the things we are very excited and proud to do," he said. "I am very lucky to have earned what I have earned throughout my career."

Beckham left the L.A. Galaxy after six years with the team, and reportedly received several lucrative offers to play for clubs around the world. Beckham was drawn to PSG in part by the team's manager, Carlo Ancelotti, who was in charge at AC Milan while Beckham was on loan to the Italian team.
