Suspended defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is expected to be reinstated by the NFL as early as next week, reports CBSSports.com.

Williams was suspended for the entire 2012 season when he admitted his participation in the New Orleans Saints bounty program. The NFL ended up suspending Saints coaches Sean Payton and Joe Vitt, as well as general manager Mickey Loomis and four players associated with the scandal. The players had their suspensions overturned by a federal judge.

The NFL has yet to announce his reinstatement, but everything is in motion for that to be formalized in the very near future, sources said. The NFL declined to comment on whether Williams already had his formal reinstatement meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell, other than to say that they have nothing to announce at this point.
