Chip Kelly's move from Oregon to the NFL may force the defending national champions to start a job hunt. Alabama offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland has been offered -- and is expected to accept -- the same job with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Tidesports.com.
Stoutland's two years as Alabama's OL coach have resulted in back-to-back national titles. He came to Alabama from Miami in 2010, and enjoyed a $395,000 salary last season.
The loss of Stoutland could be crucial considering that the Crimson Tide is losing three offensive line starters in tackle D.J. Fluker, center Barrett Jones and guard Chance Warmack, as well as, blocking tight end Michael Williams.
Kelly is reporteldy on the verge of hiring offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur
, and ESPN.com reports Kelly will hire Billy Davis
as defensive coordinator. Davis served as the Browns' linebackers coach the past two seasons. Shurmur and Stoutland both served terms as assistant coaches at Michigan State, but not at the same time. Stoutland has also coached offensive lines at Cornell and Syracuse.
