Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III says he will do whatever it takes to get back on the field in time for the start of the season in September, but he won't risk his career to do it.

Griffin took to Twitter on Tuesday to tell his more than 800,000 followers the news as he and his ad sponsor Adidas are putting together a campaign around the slogan "All in for Week 1."

Griffin had constructive knee surgery last month after he was injured late in the Redskins' 24-14 home wild-card playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

''Feel like I need to say this..Although my goal is to start Week 1, that doesn't mean I will compromise my career to do so," Griffin wrote, via NFL.com. "Starting Week 1 will be the result of healing, hard work, dedication & God's anointing. No rush. just determination."
Griffin, the AP's NFL Rookie of the Year, threw for 3,200 yards with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions last season.
