North Dakota's play-by-play announcer suspended for 'choke job' comment

The University of North Dakota has suspended the play-by-play radio announcer for its men's basketball team after he used the words "choke job" in a post-game interview with the coach, according to a report from GrandForksHerald.com.

While conducting the interview after the game, Paul Ralston used the words while interviewing coach Brian Jones to describe his 74-72 home loss in overtime on Feb. 16 to Northern Arizona. North Dakota had led in the final 60 seconds of regulation despite missing five free throws over the final four minutes of regulation.

Ralston will be eligible to return to his post in a Feb. 28 game against Portland State but will not call the game at Northern Colorado on Wednesday or the game on Saturday at Nebraska-Omaha.
