The Baltimore Ravens have been very active this offseason, losing players to retirement, trading away leading receiver Anquan Boldin and losing starters in defensive end Paul Kruger and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe to free agency.

The Ravens on Tuesday signed former New York Giants defensive lineman Chris Canty. Canty's deal with the Ravens is for three years and $8 million.

Canty made several visits since the Giants released him, making trips to see the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans. Canty signed his contract and posted a picture of it on Instagram. He started nine games for the Giants last season and had 20 tackles and three sacks. The eight-year veteran has 19 sacks for his career and spent his first four seasons in the league with the Dallas Cowboys.
