The NBA will not suspend Kings' DeMarcus Cousins for elbow

The NBA will not suspend Sacramento Kings forward DeMarcus Cousins after he hit Milwaukee Bucks forward Mike Dunleavy in the head with an elbow during the Kings' 115-113 loss on Sunday, reports USA Today. 

Cousins was given a flagrant 2 foul for the hit and was ejected from the game, the fourth time he has been tossed from a game this season. Cousins said after the game that the hit was unintentional.

Even though he is not suspended, Cousins is not expected to play tonight against the Chicago Bulls because of pain in his left leg. Cousins is the team's leading scorer (17.0) and rebounder (10.0) this season.

Cousins' latest transgression took place after he exchanged words with Dunleavy about a third-quarter play in which the Kings big man who was in a full sprint went tumbling to the floor after he was boxed out by Dunleavy. Eight seconds of play later, Cousins fought around a Dunleavy screen and landed a right elbow to his head as he chased Drew Gooden.

"There's no defense for the indefensible," Kings president of basketball operations Geoff Petrie told The Sacramento Bee on Tuesday.
