Major League Baseball is cracking down on players who have used or are speculated of having used performance enhancing drugs and has Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun and New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez "strongly in their sights," reports ESPN.com's T.J. Quinn.

Rodriguez and Braun have been linked to the Biogenesis clinic in South Florida run by Dr. Anthony Bosch, who is accused of peddling PEDs to players.

This week, minor leaguer Cesar Carrillo received a 100-game suspension for his Biogenesis ties.

A report in the Miami New Times last month showed numerous players had contact with the clinic, prompting MLB to start an investigation. But the paper decided not to cooperate with the investigation and refused to turn over the documents.

Braun was already suspended once for PED use before the 2012 season

A-Rod admitted to having used PEDs earlier in his career
