Michigan's Mitch McGary to return for sophomore season

Michigan forward Mitch McGary said Tuesday that he is returning for his sophomore season, reports MLive.com.

McGary has been climbing up the draft boards lately, including ESPN.com rating him as a first-round prospect.  McGary has averaged 6.2 points and 5.5 rebounds this season for the Wolverines (30-7).

McGary had a career high of 25 points and 14 rebounds in an 87-85 victory over Kansas in the NCAA tournament's regional semifinals. Michigan plays Syracuse on Saturday in the National Semifinals.

"I haven’t even thought about (leaving),” he told MLive.com. “I don’t have a decision to make -- I’m coming back.”

Is he 100 percent sure?

“Yeah,” he said with a laugh. “I’m coming back.”

McGary has averaged 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds since replacing Jordan Morgan in the starting lineup for the tournament. He posted back-to-back double-doubles against VCU and Kansas, becoming the first Michigan player to accomplish that feat since Robert Traylor in 1998.
