Boise State basketball players charged with misdemeanor theft
Boise State's Kenny Buckner of the men's basketball team and Brandi Henton of the women's team were arrested Saturday and charged with misdemeanor theft after being under suspicion of stealing food from a Boise store, according to a report Tuesday from the Idaho Statesman.
According to the report, citing information from the police, the two players entered the store at approximately 4:30 p.m. on April 6, took some food and left the store "making no attempt to pay for them." The 23-year-old Buckner and the 20-year Henton were placed in the Ada County Jail and released after posting a bond.
The incident marked the third time that Buckner has been charged with theft. In one of those situations, Buckner was charged in January with three other Boise State players and is due to appear in court for that particular case on April 16. Buckner, who last played in Boise State's loss to La Salle in the NCAA Tournament last month, is expected to be arraigned on his latest charge sometime in April.Henton, meanwhile, has been suspended indefinitely from the school, according to the report.
