White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks with a fractured bone in his wrist, CSNChicago.com reports.

Beckham will undergo surgery to repair the hamate bone in his left wrist in the next few days. He injured the wrist when he fouled off a pitch Monday against the Nationals. Beckham reported the wrist was still swollen Wednesday and underwent an MRI that revealed the fracture Thursday.

Beckham, 26, has hit .316 in 2013, though he has no extra-base hits.
