Lakers point guard Steve Nash out for Game 3 against Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without Steve Nash on Friday for Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs, Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni said. Andrew Goudelock will start at point guard in Nash's absence. The 39-year-old point guard has missed 32 regular season games this year and a sore back has kept Nash sidelined for much of April.

Nash had been relying on epidural shots in his back to help alleviate enough pain to play against the Spurs. Nash played in 31 minutes in the Game 2 loss to the Spurs but was visibly bothered by the injury by having trouble getting up and down the court. Nash scored nine points and had six assists in the losing effort.
