Maurice Jones-Drew was reportedly charged with battery after an altercation with a security guard at a Florida restaurant, according to NBC's ProFootballTalk:

Police say the incident began when a security guard told a friend of Jones-Drew’s to stop touching a young woman. That led to the friend putting his hands on the security guard, and a fight breaking out.

Jones-Drew punched the security guard who suffered a concussion and a swollen jaw, according to the police report, which was obtained by TMZ:

One of the security guards reportedly put MJD's friend in a headlock to stop the fight ... and that's when MJD stepped in and clocked the guard. After the incident, the security guard spoke with police -- and cops noted that the guy's jaw was "swollen a great deal and had a large lump on his jaw bone." The security guard was hospitalized after the incident -- and doctors found contusions and a bone bruise, but no broken bones.
Jones-Drew is a three-time Pro Bowler and led the NFL in rushing yards in 2011. He missed a significant portion of the 2012 season with a left foot injury.
