The Charlotte Bobcats are "looking to make a splash" during the offseason and are open to trading their No. 4 overall draft pick in a package for a veteran star, according to The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn.
Miami Heat big man Chris Bosh could be a "prime candidate," according to the report, as there are rumors the Heat will look to trade Bosh. The Bobcats could take on his near-maximum contract.
"As much as Charlotte would love to build through the draft, team officials understand they have to start winning and need a player to be the face of the franchise. Bosh could serve that purpose," Washburn writes.
The 29-year-old Bosh will make about $79 million over the next four seasons as part of his six-year, $109.8-million deal. The contract includes an early termination option in 2014 and a player option for the 2015-16 season.
Maryland center Alex Len, Indiana shooting guard Victor Oladipo, Michigan point guard Trey Burke and UNLV forward Anthony Bennett are expected to be in the mix for the No. 4 spot in the June 27 draft.
