The Sacramento Kings have reached an agreement to make Denver Nuggets vice president of basketball operations Pete D'Alessandro their new general manager, according to multiple reports.

He replaces Geoff Petrie, who the team's new ownership group let go in late May after 19 years in Sacramento.

D'Alessandro is the third major organizational figure the Nuggets have lost over the past month -- GM Masai Ujiri left for the Toronto Raptors and the team fired head coach George Karl.

Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the hiring.

D'Allesandro, a former agent and attorney, previously worked for the Golden State Warriors from 2004-08 as director of basketball operations and assistant GM.
