Former Major League outfielder Manny Ramirez wants to return to the big leagues after spending this season overseas, reports FOX Sports.com.

Ramirez, 41, batted .352 with eight home runs and 43 RBI in 206 plate appearances with the EDA Rhinos of the Chinese Professional Baseball League and his agent told Fox Sports that he wanted a chance to try to come back to the majors.

Ramirez last played in 2011 with the Tampa Bay Rays lasting only five games with the team when he suddenly  retired. He was reportedly facing a 100-game suspension for testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing drug during spring training.

In 19 MLB seasons, the 12-time All-Star batted .312 with 555 career home runs, which ranks 14th in MLB history and 1,831 RBI.

More from FoxSports.com:

“The reason he decided not to return for the second half was to free himself to be available to play in the United States,” Barry Praver, Ramirez’s agent, told FOXSports.com Wednesday. “This whole thing with Manny in Taiwan was a phenomenon. He invigorated the league. Attendance went through the roof. It was a very positive experience for both sides.
