After talks with Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers broke down on Friday, the Los Angeles Clippers have "intensified discussions" with head coaching candidate Byron Scott, ESPN's Chris Broussard is reporting.

Clippers president Andy Roeser has discussed financial terms with Scott's representatives, which the team has not done with Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins, another candidate for the job along with Pacers assistant Brian Shaw.

The Clippers have not reached out to Shaw since discussions with Rivers ended on Friday, but do have an idea of his asking price, according to the report.

The team plans to revisit talks with Rivers one more time before making front office members make their recommendations on Monday.

From the report:

Sources told ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne the Clippers still intend to revisit the Rivers talks one more time, but are using the weekend to make sure they can quickly move on to one of the other three candidates -- Scott, Lionel Hollins and Brian Shaw -- should the talks with Boston go nowhere.

Roeser and other members of the front office are expected to present their recommendations for the head coach to Sterling on Monday, with a resolution expected soon thereafter, and possibly the same day.

The Celtics are scheduled to hold a news conference to discuss the future of Rivers on Monday. The news conference originally was scheduled for Friday but was postponed.

Scott is close with free-agent Clippers star Chris Paul, who he coached in New Orleans. The 52-year-old was fired by the Cavaliers after three straight seasons with less than 25 wins.

Scott owns a 416-521 (.444) career record with the Nets, Hornets and Cavs. He led the Nets to back-to-back NBA Finals in 2002 and '03 and the Hornets to the second round in 2008.
