Miami Heat shooting guard Ray Allen will exercise his player-option to return to the Miami Heat, according to multiple reports. According to Fox Sports Florida, by opting in using his player-option, Allen will earn $3.23 million in the 2013-14 season with the defending-champion Heat.

Despite posting career-lows in points-per-game (10.9) and minutes-per-game (25.7) in a reserve role with the Heat, Allen played an integral role in saving the season during Game 6 of the NBA Finals. With 5.2 seconds remaining and the Heat down by three in Game 6, Allen drained the game-tying shot to send the game into overtime. The Heat would go on to to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in seven games to claim their second consecutive NBA Championship.

Allen averaged 10.9 points-pre-game on 44.9 percent shooting in 79 games last season with the Heat.
